This week was our first week back at Ashgrove. It feels like we never left. We have been at home with our mammies daddies brothers and sisters for the past 4 months. Our teachers from Ashgrove had been chatting to us on what’s app each day while we were at home, sending us cool activities to do at home with our families and even some videos of circle time too, it was a little strange at the start but we got used to it. We were really looking forward to getting back to doing circle time with all of our friends and teachers, it is a lot more fun sitting with them for circle time. (mammies and daddies always forget the words of our songs!)

Mammies told us they dropped in a box into creche last week with spare clothes, a creche pair of shoes and jacket, sun cream. We also all got our own cool new beakers with our names on them for us to use for snack and dinner time. We were up very early on our first day, our tummies were filled with butterflies. We were sad to leave our mammies and daddies and we are really going to miss being at home every day with them and playing all day long with our brothers and sisters but we were so excited to see everyone at Ashgrove.

When we got to the gate we found Andrea and Ciara. We were so glad to see them and all the new thing in the garden. They took our temperatures with a brand new thermometer that doesn’t go in our ears anymore. Mammy and daddy were so happy to see them so that put us at ease walking in the gate.

The garden has so many new toys we couldn’t wait to play with. Andrea has worked so hard to make the place so beautiful. As we make our way through the gate we can see our teachers smiling faces coming towards us to take us from Andrea or Ciara and take us to our pod. Our pods are names after the colours, orange, yellow, pink and purple.

As we entered the creche we could smell the lovely dinner Marie is cooking in the kitchen. We missed our dinners at Ashgrove. Through the window we can see our friends waving at us in excitement, we couldn’t wait to give each other a big hug.

We had to change our shoes at the door and put on our new indoor shoes mammy dropped into Ashgrove last week. Then we washed our hands in our new sink in our classroom, this is so cool.

Our teachers made us a lovely welcome sign with pictures of us all on them. We loved seeing our faces on the wall and this made us feel so happy and welcome. All of our rooms looked the same but better and we were so happy with all of our new toys that Andrea had added.

We all settled and adjusted very well back into Ashgrove and all the newness there. Our teachers had fun packed plans for each day for us to do which kept us super busy and we forgot all about missing our mammies and daddies. We had little boxes with all our own colours, pencils, paints , rubbers, sharpeners and everything we need for arts and crafts. This was so cool because we didn’t have to wait until our friends were finished with the colour we wanted to use because we had our own. We had new songs to sing that our teachers have made for when we are washing our hands. This makes hand washing so much fun and it doesn’t even feel like we are at the sink for 30 seconds.

We were all very tired after our first week back at Ashgrove. We cannot wait for week 2.
