Any concerns that we have had about sleeping, eating or anything else have always been listened to and dealt with promptly. We always feel that the team really have our sons best interests at heart and really care about him. Andrea and her team put a huge amount of work into organising monthly themes for artwork and activities for the children to carry out. We were particularly impressed with how the team managed the recent COVID crisis and how they kept in touch with the children and parents during the lockdown via a WhatApp group giving us lots of suggestions of artwork, P.E. and singing activities to try with our children. Our younger boy joined full-time as a wobbler, transitioned through the Montessori programme and is now starting school in September. The professional and caring nature of Andrea and her team has always been very evident throughout his journey in Ashgrove. We have huge confidence in the excellent quality of childcare and education, and can see that he has been, and continues to be, cared for in a secure, kind, happy environment. He spends much of his time baking, creating, designing, acting and having a superb time. The staff always go that extra mile – if there is a family member’s birthday a card will be made; Santa Claus comes to visit at Christmas and there is a Christmas Show that is a favourite for both children and parents. In the summer there is a garden party, which is also a great opportunity for children, parents and staff to get together. Our eldest boy has been a member of the Ashgrove After-school programme for the past three years. He has thrived in this environment: being collected from school, fed a lovely hot dinner (we often have to ask for recipes!), supported in doing his homework and most importantly playing with other children his age. Ashgrove offer a huge range of activities for the older children, including Lego club, stretch and grow, yoga, cooking and arts and crafts. During the summer camps are run for the older children, and Andrea is so flexible – happy to drop and collect the children from external camps as required. We have often been known to go collect the boys and be told we are too early – they are having so much fun! What we appreciate is that Ashgrove takes the pressure of us, two parents working full-time, and look after our boys so well. We trust the team with the most important people in our lives and know that the children are happy, well looked after and are learning new skills all the time. Each member of the team in Ashgrove is wonderful, caring, enthusiastic and kind. They always have a smile on their faces and have the time to patiently answer our questions, find the lost jumper, missing school-bag, and importantly, give the children a hug when needed. We are so pleased we choose Ashgrove all those years ago, and hope our children will remain in After-school for years to come.
